The majority of the employee laid off came from parks and recreation, libraries and maintenance departments. Altogether, these departments lost a total of 156 employees.

The global solar power industry has been steadily growing since 2001 by an average of 41% per year, and it is estimated that it will be worth $90 billion by 2011. This figure, however, may be conservative.
The environmental industry has blossomed in recent years with the world's collective realization that the earth's resources are being depleted at an alarming rate.
