Environmental Director Jobs description

The environmental director is generally responsible for promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development. This may be done through visiting schools and working on in-school projects. The environmental director works with different businesses and community groups, giving talks, producing educational resources and websites, and leading guided nature walks. The environmental director is also responsible for promoting sustainability and \\\'green business\\\' schemes to local businesses. He is also responsible for recruiting, training, supervising and supporting volunteer groups. The environmental director generates income through fundraising activities; submitting funding bids etc. He has to guide his subordinates into organizing environmental events and functions.

Applicants for the post of the environmental director should have a post graduate degree in environment-related subjects and candidates without it would require substantial experience to gain entry. Relevant subjects include environmental science (physical), environmental science (biological), and geography.
