Others are agencies empowered to create amenities like parks or to regenerate communities, cities, and regions AECOM has an immediate opening for a Senior Environmental Project Manager in our San Francisco or Sacramento office. The selected individual will focus primarily on varied and important energy projects in northern California. Duties: - Independently evaluate, select, and apply creative planning techniques, procedures, and criteria to a broad variety of CEQA and NEPA assignments. · Independently manage multidisciplinary AECOM staff to prepare technically defensible CEQA and/or NEPA documents for a energy-related projects. Maintain, nurture, and expand client relationships. · Provide strategic regulatory permitting guidance and confer with clients to obtain environmental approvals. · Coordinate and consult with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies on project scope and impact when necessary. · Assist clients with public hearings or meetings and manage public outreach activities. · Manage, interpret, and prepare planning studies and permits and other technical reports. · Develop and effectively manage scopes, schedules, and budgets. · Develop innovative solutions to problems. · Supervise and mentor junior staff and multi-disciplinary teams. · Lead marketing efforts to current clientele and to identify and attract new business opportunities. · Prepare for and participate in interviews, in addition to agency and client coordination and relations. · Manage multiple task orders under on-call contracts. Skill Requirements: Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills are required. This position requires regular and effective management of staff, sub-consultants, and client interaction. Experience Requirements: · At least 7 years of increasingly responsible CEQA/NEPA experience with public planning agency or consultancy · Relevant experience, either managing or participating in preparation and processing of CEQA and NEPA documents, including EIRs, EISs, IS/MNDs, and EAs. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, or related field. MS/MA preferred.
