Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an entry level Water Resources Engineer for the Louisville, KY office. This position is responsible for performing hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, collecting and interpreting

field data, and providing technical support on a variety of water resources projects. Responsibilities include:

Performs hydrologic / hydraulics studies, storm water planning, modeling, analysis and design

Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents

Conducts hydraulic / hydrologic and/or water quality modeling studies

Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, terrain, hydrological and hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects

Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, construction cost estimates and designs for projects

Inspects construction site to monitor progress and assesses conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards

May make professional presentations to client or agency representatives from time to time

Interacts with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOMDesired experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation and/or HEC-RAS

In Summary:

Builds analytic and design skills.

Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an

experienced engineer.

Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software experience

Strong technical writing skills

Excellent communication skills

Possesses strong leadership skills

Task and time management skills
