The primary purpose of this position is to perform the daily cleaning and related service activities of the environmental services department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for performing clean-up duties in assigned areas by following established cleaning procedures and maintain standards of cleanliness as outlined on the Quality Assurance inspection forms.
Clean, wipe, wash, sanitize, polish, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, and apply clean linen as applicable to furnishings, fixtures, ledges, glass, floors, and walls in patient rooms, bathrooms, ancillary areas, and public areas.
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the janitor's closets, cleaning carts, and cleaning equipment.
Properly use chemicals with correct dilution; not wasteful or excessive.
Use supplies properly and economically.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3-6 months of previous experience required. Previous experience with floor machines is preferred.
