North Wind Resource Consulting is seeking a Natural Resource Specialist/Rangeland Specialist.
The Natural Resource Specialist/Rangeland Specialist will be collecting vegetation and soil data in various states as part of rangeland health monitoring and plant community composition measurements. Successful applicant will typically work in a team setting with one or two other individuals. Individual will manage all aspects of data collection related to the NRCS's National Resources Inventory (NRI) methodology and/or BLM's Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM) protocols.
Applicants should have a degree in botany, range science, soil science, biology, or a related field. Experience with identifying vegetation to species is essential for the position. Ability to work in remote locations and away from home for up to eight days at a time.
Familiarity with NRCS's National Resources Inventory (NRI) methodology and/or BLM's Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM) protocols. Familiarity with Database for Inventory, Monitoring, and Assessment (DIMA).
