Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.r rDESCRIPTIONrOur Senior Water Engineer Manager will Make a Difference by striving to work with Philadelphia Water Department, and supporting other public sector clients in PA and the surrounding region with their next challenging projects. The successful candidate will join a growing team of water engineers, designers, and drafters. It is a unique opportunity that offers a solid challenge in consulting for municipal clients.r rrYou will be involved with a variety of water-related projects such as water and sewer master plans; hydraulic modeling, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and wells. rYou will work as part of a project team and be responsible for planning, design development, calculations, presentations and overall project development for a variety of projects.rYou will interact with clients and be responsible for positioning on upcoming projects.rYou will be active in business development activities, such as networking groups, proposal preparation, pursuit strategy and fee proposal development.rYou will be expected to participate in industry organizations such as ASCE, APWA among others.rYou will be an active part of the water group at Michael Baker and provide technical leadership and mentoring to other staff members.rPerform project management duties, such as invoicing, project budgeting and forecasting and monthly reportsrPrepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and sewer pipelines and pumping stations.rConduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related for these types of utility systems.rPrepare and review technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.rAssist technical marketing during the procurement of key projects.rCommunicate effectively and coordinate with project team members including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, and other engineers).r r rPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSrrYou’ll possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on environmental and/or water resources engineering, or related engineering field.rYou’ll have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in performing design and calculations supporting hydraulic modeling, pipeline design, and pump stations. Local PA experience.rYou’ll be a highly motivated self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water Team.rYou’ll have excellent technical writing and communication skills.rYou’ll need your Professional Engineer registration in PA, and others states desirablerYou’ll be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPointrA proven track record of increasing levels of responsibility and experience interfacing with clients is preferred.r r r
