ERM
is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager/P.E.
to join our team in Overland Park, KS
. In this role, successful candidate will provide project management and senior technical expertise on Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCCP) and NPDES permitting projects for clients locally (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska) and nationally. While this position may also support site investigation and remediation projects, the primary need is a subject matter expert on SWPPP, SPCCP and NPDES projects at rail facilities. As a Senior Project Manager, you will contribute your leadership, client relationship, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM’s business and client base in the Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska area. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation and/or update of SWPPP for rail facilities including rail yards, locomotive servicing facilities, fueling areas and other industrial, manufacturing and commercial facilities.
Preparation and/or update of SPCCP for rail facilities including rail yards, locomotive servicing facilities, fueling areas and other industrial, manufacturing and commercial facilities.
Management and/or preparation of NPDES permit applications and renewals at rail facilities and other industrial, manufacturing and commercial facilities.
Mentor/leader for project teams consisting of other engineers, geologists and environmental scientists.
Growth of engineering business (SWPPP, SPCCP, stormwater and NPDES technical community) with rail client in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
Potential support and technical expertise on air permitting, site investigation and remediation projects for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in the transportation, oil and gas, power and manufacturing sectors.
Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables on SWPPP, SPCCP and NPDES projects.
Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams while mentoring and growing junior staff.
Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to help grow office revenues and profits.
Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with clients. 
Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees and offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. /M.S. in engineering (chemical, environmental, mechanical, wastewater), P.E. license in Kansas and Missouri required and ability to secure P.E. license in Nebraska and other states as needed.
10 years consulting experience working at rail facilities, industrial sites, commercial properties and manufacturing plants under a variety of local, state and federal regulations.   
Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in rail industry.
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills.
Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
Recognized technical expertise in SWPPP, SPCCP and NPDES regulations and process.
Familiarity with rail operations, facilities and issues associated with SWPPP, SPCCP and NPDES issues at these facilities.
