Senior Counsel - Environmental

Profile

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for advising business operators and compliance organization team members on regulatory issues with a particular emphasis on environmental matters and representing the company's interests before local state and federal regulators. Candidates should be familiar with standard legal concepts practices and procedures applicable to administrative and criminal proceedings. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively with other legal staff members and the compliance organization teams. This position will periodically counsel members of senior management and the candidate must exhibit the competence and professionalism needed to earn the trust of members of the company s management team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Experience: 6 plus years of legal experience required. Candidate must have administrative law and regulatory experience. Significant experience in environmental regulatory matters is required. A combination of in- house or government experience and private practice experience is preferred.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.

Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Special Skills: A team player who can effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner. Must be able to work independently with outside counsel. Must exercise good judgment in all tasks.

Supervisory: Manage outside counsel and possible supervision of other in-house attorneys paralegals or administrative assistants.

Travel: Some travel may be required.
