Industrial Process Wastewater Engineer
POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients nationwide. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specializes in the areas of air, water, process wastewater, waste, ecological and cultural resources throughout our 45 offices located across the country.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Power Engineers is growing again, and we are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Industrial Wastewater Engineer for full-time or part-time employment in support of our Midwest Environmental Services Civil/Environmental Engineering Group. The selected candidate would join a team of more than 230 environmental professionals across the U.S. This position may be based in our Cincinnati, OH office, however, we will consider applicants for Columbus. OH; or Madison, WI.
Municipal Wastewater Engineers are encouraged to take on the challenges of biological treatment for a variety of industrial process wastewater opportunities. Treatment process evaluations, upgrade recommendations and design are all part of the position.
In this role, you will work closely with customers and staff to provide consulting and engineering design to develop practical technical and regulatory compliant solutions for our customers’ specific needs. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of biological treatment processes, equipment capabilities, and proven experience in food processing and or municipal wastewater, consumer products, and other manufacturing wastewater evaluations including biological and chemical/physical treatment, system design, and working directly with customers and equipment suppliers/manufacturers.
Required Education/Experience
BS Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE licensing within 6 months of employment. Ability to obtain PE license in additional states through reciprocity.
Excellent writing and communication skills required with proven customer interactions
Ability to travel when required, typically less than 10%
Must have 5 years of professional experience providing industrial water/wastewater consulting and engineering
Biological and chemical/physical wastewater treatment experience
Indirect and Direct Discharge Permitting experience
Desired Education/Experience
BS in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
10 years providing industrial water/wastewater consulting, project management and engineering lead on industrial water/wastewater projects
Licensed Professional Engineer
Ability to obtain additional PE licenses within 6 months of request, NCEES Record a plus
Technical Lead Process Wastewater engineering studies and design experience
Ability to work with customers to establish objectives
Regulatory negotiations and permitting experience at the local, state, and federal levels
Ability to lead a team of multi-discipline engineers
Strong command of the English language, possessing good written and oral communication skills
