is seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant/Partner
, with significant consulting experience and private-sector client relationships, to join our growing office in Bakersfield, CA
. You will play a key role in establishing our business in Central and Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona while specializing in one of ERM's core service areas:
Air Quality Management
Contaminated Site Management
EHS Performance & Assurance
Impact Assessment & Planning
M&A Transaction Services
Risk Management
Sustainability & Climate Change
As a senior leader, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting on a range of environmental projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.  This is a technical director or partner-track
opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader, and make a significant impact on successfully implementing ERM's strategic vision and plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver performance results to expand ERM's client base in the Pacific West, focusing on Central and Southern California.  Serve as a key member of the South Area management team to drive double-digit profitable growth across the Business Unit.
As a senior “seller/doer,” contribute to business development of new consulting services. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Develop and manage strategic environmental programs (in your targeted service area) for a variety of industrial clients with complex technical/regulatory issues.  Design and direct large programs/projects and multi-person project teams.  Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of technical team.
Develop a working understanding of ERM’s consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling these services to existing clients. Support the general growth and development of ERM’s international service area within your designated field.  Coordinate with ERM offices in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions.  
REQUIREMENTS:
BS/MS in engineering (environmental, chemical, civil), environmental science, or related degree.
15 years relevant consulting experience in working with significant industrial clients on environmental consulting engagements.
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful business growth strategies in California.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, and book personal sales in new environmental consulting services.
Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
Certification in field; PE, RG, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar registration highly desirable.
