Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions currently has an opportunity available for an Environmental Data Specialist in our Chelmsford, MA office. Our Clifton Park, NY office may be considered as well. This position requires the candidate to have two to five years of professional experience and strong skills in environmental data management. The candidate will work with the internal project team as well as our clients.
Develop and utilize data validation tools in EarthSoft EQuIS, Microsoft Excel, Access and SQLServer to perform data quality checks for incoming lab/field data and load to project databases
Track submission of laboratory EDDs, load EDDs, and run required reports via EQuIS Professional and SQL Server Reporting Services
Provide reporting support by generating and formatting tables, charts, or graphs
Provide QA/QC for project team as it applies to data accuracy and completeness
Support Scientists, Engineers, GIS Professionals, Geologists, Chemists, and other stakeholders by providing data-driven solutions that solve a variety of client business needs
Skills / Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Science or Engineering required (or equivalent experience)
2 - 5 yrs. experience in the environmental field with emphasis on environmental data management
Experience with enterprise database software: EarthSoft EQuIS, MS SQL Server, and MS Access (intermediate to advanced)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to facilitate import into databases, data reporting/graphing, and data analysis
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving capabilities and communication skills
Ability to manage and re-adjust workload to meet changing deadlines with minimal supervision
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS a plus
Experience with AFCEC ERPIMS data platform a plus
Understanding of environmental field and analytical lab procedures/nomenclature a plus
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Companys driving (MVR) policy
