Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT),
is seeking a candidate to join our growing multi-discipline firm in the role of Environmental Scientist or Environmental Project Manager. Responsibilities of the position include technical project development and delivery, coordinating with multi-discipline project teams and participating in business development activities. Specific technical assignments will be based on individual skill sets. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. The position will require a combination of office and field work, with some travel required.
Office location may be flexible, with preference in the Indiana, Illinois or Missouri markets. While the position will report to the Surface Transportation Business Unit, project assignments can include those under the Aviation, Water Resources and Civil and Site Services Business Units, offering the opportunity for personal growth.
Minimum position requirements:
B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Chemistry or related discipline
Two years of experience conducting environmental studies and/or NEPA assessments
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products and ESRI ArcGIS
Preferred Skills and Training:
M.S. in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Chemistry preferred
Certifications relevant to technical background and/or management (Professional Geologist, Certified Ecologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, Project Management Professional)
NEPA compliance for various DOTs (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida and Missouri) and/or other lead federal agencies such as FAA, FHWA, NPS, USFS, AFCEC, USAF and DOE
Wetland delineation, wetland and stream qualitative analysis, ecological restoration design, 404/401 permitting, plant systematics, mussel surveys, bat acoustic or mist net surveys, environmental site assessments, traffic noise data
and/or air quality analysis
Environmental Compliance/Audit (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, Facility Audit, UST compliance)
(Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, assessments under Brownfields or state voluntary cleanup programs)
Strong professional network along with participation in professional organizations for continuous improvement of technical skills a plus
