Job Description
Responsible for maintaining ISO 9001 managementsystems for Columbus and satellite sites.Responsible for achieving ISO 17025 & ISO14001 accreditation for the Columbus facility.Responsible for maintaining all qualityprocedures in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and ISOstandards.Performing JHA’s, JSA’s, Audits, RiskAssessments and a variety of other safety and quality activities as needed andas assigned.Responsible for integrating new equipment andprocedures into the ISO quality system.Responsible for managing and improving GaugePack (Calibration and Preventive Maintenance scheduler).\r
 REPORTING LINE:•       Reports to the Director of Operations.SPECIFICRESPONSIBILITIES :\r
Inspects work sites, machinery, equipment, orinsured properties for hazards, violations, and conformance with governmentalstandards.Analyzes unsafe conditions and assigns ratingaccording to established factors.Observes work activities and practices todetermine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used.Evaluates voluntary compliance and effectivenessof safety program, using established goals.Confers with management to ensure compliancewith regulations and demonstrate use of safety equipment and first aidprocedures.Recommends changes in policies and procedures toprevent accidents and illness.Investigates accidents to ascertain causes andanalyzes history of accidents and claims to develop accident-preventionprograms.Prepares written reports on hazards, near miss,and incidents. Maintains records and prepares reports offindings, violations, and recommendations for corrective action.Develops and conducts training to promote healthand safety, safe operation of equipment, and compliance with precautions andcontrol hazards.Prepares written procedures and documents,processes and job aids as directed.Communicate safety policies and work instructionsto all employees and visitors.Ensure all new hires receive safety orientationand complete all training. Be the resource for safety and quality and assistthe team toward safety and quality excellence.Communicate ISO policies and work instructionsto all employees on site.Evaluate and update any ISO process or workinstructions for facility for effectiveness.Communicate with all accreditation bodiesconcerning our ISO certs.Perform onsite audits of our ISO systems bothQuality and Environmental.Submit all federal, state, and city requireddocuments related to environmental and safety.Responsible researching/implementing newfederal/state/city regulations for facility to ensure site is compliant withany new/update requirements.Other duties and responsibilities may beassigned.

Job Requirements
Must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2years of demonstrated work experience in the area of health, safety andenvironment; OR, 4 years of demonstrated work experience in the area of health,safety and environment.Must have at least 1 year of demonstrated ISO work experience.Certification in health, safety or environmentalpreferred.Certification in ISO helpful.Familiar with business metrics and statistics.Ability to approach problems in a scientificmanner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance.\r
High level of integrity, ethics, and drivetowards customer service with strong poise, tact, and diplomacy.Strong orientation towards teamwork.Strong Verbal & Written Communicationskills.Desire to work in fast-paced, rapidlychanging and results’ oriented environment.High ability to manage time to prioritizecompeting tasks and demands being able to resolve them successfully.Ability to approach problems in a scientificmanner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance.Expert knowledge of quality managementprinciples.Able to use motorized equipment to move vehiclesand materials.Able to bend, squat, and lift to 50 lbs. Standor sit for up to two hours.Use an MS Windows based computer including MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.Able to read and interpret data to participatein data quality review.Understanding of Federal regulations foremissions testing (CFR 40 Parts 1066 or 1065) Preferred.\r
Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy worksite.Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS HSEPolicies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safetymeetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations,refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws andregulations related to HSE.Responds appropriately to emergency situationsand assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond toemergencies within the workplace.In accordance with the SGS HSE Management Systemrequirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as apart of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all wastetransportation and disposal regulations and requirements.Reports all incidents (actuals and near misses)in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.Uses all equipment (including safety equipment)in the manner intended and reports any damaged/lost equipment to supervisor.Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.Maintains awareness of hazards and proposescontrols to supervisor, HSE Representatives or relevant contact.Actively participates in incident investigationsand risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.\r
