Essential Responsibilities & Duties: Perform and assist with habitat assessments and biological surveys. Participate in and\/or supervise field activities in urban and remote areas throughout California, manage data collection and field operations, analyze data, ensure data quality, and prepare reports. Prepare technical studies, technical sections for CEQA \/ NEPA documents, and application packages for various environmental permits and authorizations. Schedule biologists and coordinate environmental awareness trainings, preconstruction surveys, and construction monitoring.
Oversee all aspects of environmental compliance during project implementation to ensure project compliance with all permit and authorization terms and conditions.
Actively participate in multi-disciplinary teamwork with biologists, planners, landscape architects, restoration ecologists, and engineers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in environmental science, planning, biology, natural resources management, or similar. At least five (5) years of experience, including two (2) years of experience in construction monitoring and worker environmental awareness training.
Familiarity with state and federal environmental laws.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including providing clear direction and effectively communicating in meetings.
Valid California driver s license, excellent driving record, and reliable vehicle.
Physical ability to work and stand outside for long periods, and walk long distances.
Training in conducting protocol-level surveys\/monitoring of special-status species. Benefits: Market-Competitive Compensation
