\rEnvironmental Manager\r \rSUMMARY \rManages all Environmental responsibilities associated with an explosives manufacturing facility and an adjacent Treatment, Storage and Disposal (TSD) Facility.\r\rESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\r\rFollow all applicable Environmental permit responsibilities for the Main Facility and TSD.\r\rManage the sampling and reporting protocol for all Environmental Permits.\r\rPerforms environmental audits of the facility and TSD to maintain both Environmental and ISO 14001 compliance.\r\rPerforms all applicable Environmental required training throughout the facility for the employees.\r\rUnderstand and comprehend government regulations, policies, and guidance documents.\r\rWork with all regulatory agencies for inquiries and annual audits.\r\rContact person for all Environmental questions plant wide.\r\rParticipate in corporate EHS personnel during internal audits and inquiries.\r\rManages and prepares the Environmental budget for the department\r\rManages the onsite recycling program and has all associated responsibilities for the program\r\rReporting requirement of Environmental status to Upper Management.\r\rSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES \rDirectly supervises employees in the Environmental Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\r\rQUALIFICATIONS \r To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Employee must be willing to obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy. Employee must report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to their supervision and participate in a team hazard to produce a work place that is free from hazards and personal injury. Must be able to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).\r\rMust have related experience in environmental compliance. CDL with HAZMAT Endorsement and DOT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS Certification desirable.\r\rMust have 40 hour HAZWOPER training or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire. HAZWOPER Supervisor desirable. \r\rEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE \rBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\r\rLANGUAGE SKILLS \rAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\r\rMATHEMATICAL SKILLS \rAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\r\rREASONING ABILITY \rAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to read and understand government regulations and apply when necessary.\r\rPHYSICAL DEMANDS \rThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
