Position Purpose: 

As part of the Development, Strategy and Innovation Department of Veolia North America, this role will be responsible for the management of innovation projects across the different business lines (water, waste and energy). The Project Manager Innovation (PMI) will be responsible for completing critical innovation projects in coordination with transversal teams. The PMI will be in charge of coordinate engineering study, installation of pilot and partnerships agreement. This role requires good project management skills, engineering experience and ideally knowledge in procurement and construction. Here are examples of projects to be managed: decarbonization projects including carbon capture, wastewater reuse projects; logistics (collection, packaging, transportation) of used EV batteries.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of project planning and execution: break the project into tasks, set an appropriate schedule for the development of specific deliverables, define milestones, and highlight the project dependencies.

Resolve issues and solve problems that arise during a project.

Find the quickest and easiest pathway towards accomplishing the goals.

Manage the transversal teams and partners (contractor, consultants) to achieve the common goal and delegate work effectively.

Ensure that the deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.

Monitoring progress and tracking roadblocks.

Conducting regular meetings.

Communicate internally on the progress.

Qualifications Education/Experience/Background:

Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

Five years of experience in project management or engineering role.

Two years of experience in managing innovation projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent leadership skills, coordination abilities and motivational skills.

Innovator skills such as questioning, observing, networking and experimenting.

Good at creating processes and tools to accelerate the delivery of projects.

Collaborative and creative team player with drive for innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and tools.

Experienced in project management software and ideation tools.

Self-starter with strong organization, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Build excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Successfully works on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Uses discretion in handling confidential or sensitive business information or issues.

Willing to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
