As an Environmental Engineer for Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA (MTV), you will be responsible for ensuring that Micron maintains compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and environmental regulations. The environmental engineer ensures corporate and environmental policies are followed. This individual will effectively and professionally represent Micron to both internal and external parties. Your primary focus will be on environmental air programs.
Your responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, the following:
Monitoring, measuring and evaluating environmental conditions in accordance with Micron's air permit.
Preparing and submitting Mandatory Reporting Rule for Greenhouse Gases, hazardous air pollutants, new source performance standards (NSPS), stratosphere ozone programs, and other environmental reports.
Knowing and following regulations that apply to Micron in their subject field to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Maintaining accurate recordkeeping of emissions.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining programs designed to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Ensuring deficiencies of Micron's Corporate and Environmental policies and applicable local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations are brought to management's attention.
Ensuring required training is developed and delivered according to local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Identifying on-going opportunities for continual improvement associated with Environmental programs.
Representing Micron in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties.
Conduct ISO 14001 Environmental Management System audits.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Experience performing high-level calculations such as chemical mass balances.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work effectively, diplomatically, and calmly in emergency situations
Good team working skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work
Demonstrated ability to maintain and foster positive work relationships
The ability to work on own initiative with little or no supervision while maintaining compliance with policies and practices established for the department and company
Knowledge of air pollution control strategies and equipment
Fluent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience working at a semiconductor or similar facility (Preferred)
Experience as an 1S0 14001 auditor (Preferred)
BS in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related engineering field.
Five years of environmental engineering experience, preferably with 3 or more years working on environmental air programs.
