Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. is a civil engineering, environmental consulting, land surveying firm. Our Environmental Group provides extensive expertise in environmental review, planning, compliance, and permitting for both public and private clients. Bowman is seeking a dedicated professional with FERC and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting experience to act as a Senior Environmental Scientist/FERC Permitting Project Manager.

The candidate should have experience in managing and executing petroleum and natural gas permitting projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Support business development in generation of new business in petroleum and natural gas.

Support the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.

Work directly with clients to achieve site planning and permitting needs.

Prepare FERC Environmental Reports, and federal, state, and local permit applications.

Research and interpret federal, state and local regulations and requirements.

Collect, manage and analyze environmental data and information.

Evaluate project permitting feasibility.

Interface with regulatory agencies.

Participate in project meetings including client, agency, and public forums.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, ecology, or other similar related field.

Minimum 5-10 years of FERC permitting experience.

Demonstrate an understanding of pre-filing and traditional FERC 7(c) application filing requirements.

Experience working with federal, state and local regulators.

Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), excellent team attitude, effective time management and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
