-IOWA-NEWTON-SKIFF MEDICAL CENTER POSITION SUMMARY: Cleans and maintains all assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and attractive manner in accordance with required accreditation and industry standards. *** This is an \As-Needed\ position - there are 0 regular scheduled hours per week, and no benefits. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment and transports to designated work area. Cleans assigned areas in accordance with accreditation and industry standards. Tasks include cleaning, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping and other tasks as directed. Cleans and maintains equipment. Maintains good relationships with patients, visitors, co-workers, and staff. Plans and utilizes time well. Uses initiative in performing duties. Demonstrates professional attitude and behavior by maintaining acceptable work habits including, but not limited to, dependability, punctuality, and appropriate dress. Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education by attending all monthly department meetings, completing CareLearning, attending one quarterly leadership briefing and reading all applicable e-mails. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and hospital matters. QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to consistently meet the department work schedule. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing and be able to follow instructions. Must have manual ability to perform such tasks as mopping, buffing, polishing, scrubbing and moving furniture.
