Title: Environmental CoordinatorID: req12835Type: Full TimeFunction: Environmental, Health & SafetyDivision: PT - IgnitionLocation: Burlington, IA, United StatesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Environmental Coordinator duties will include but not limited to full facility responsibility for environmental monitoring and reporting for the facility as well as the ISO 14001 program maintenance and improvements including but not limited to improvements in the overall environmental impact.Provide expertise in environmental control and possibly energy utilization.Develops programs to satisfy current and developing environmental regulations and legislation.Ensures that the facility and its processes are in compliance with current and evolving regulations.Obtains and maintains operating permits in compliance with permit conditions.Designs, plans, or performs engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental health hazards utilizing various engineering disciplines.Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.Develops proposed project objectives and targets, and reports to management on progress in attaining.Develop site-specific health and safety protocols, such as spill contingency plans and methods for loading and transporting waste.Inform company employees and other interested parties of environmental issues.Assist in budget implementation, forecasts and administration.Serve as liaison with federal, state, local agencies and officials on issues pertaining to solid and hazardous waste program requirements. Prepare hazardous waste manifests and land disposal restriction notifications.Develop and present environmental compliance training or orientation sessions.Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products with may include determining the machines, equipment, tools and the sequence of operations necessary to perform production and assembly operations.Support facility environmental compliance as required by permits and written programs, through regular contacts with operations and engineering personnelMaintain and update all MSDS's for all products being used on the site to assist in spill response and required annual chemical reporting under the Community Right to Know regulationsFunction as an onsite coordinator in the event of a reportable spillAudit onsite contractors and contractor facilities to ensure compliance with requirements and proceduresGather data required and complete and file all required environmental reports with local, state and federal regulatory agenciesProvide support to the Safety Department in a back-up role, as requiredPer other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Please review this video to view our operation at this link :REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Environmental Compliance (or related field) is required.3-5 years manufacturing engineering experience and/or environmental compliance experience.
