As an NRDA Specialist – Natural Resources, based out of our Baton Rouge office, you will help lead projects and business development in the Gulf Coast region. We also provide an active community program and professional development through the GHD Business School.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Developing Natural Resource Damage Assessment StrategiesPerforming and leading natural resource damage assessmentsOversight of field investigations and report preparation for fish, wildlife, and vegetation reports; Coordination and/or preparation of reports on land use, recreation, and aesthetics, alternatives, cultural resources, soils, air and noise quality, and geological resourcesAnalyzing (including statistical analysis) and interpreting dataDeveloping advocacy positions based on dataPreparing draft work plans, reports, correspondence and proposals for internal reviewCommunicating directly with clients and regulatory agenciesManaging multiple projects and a small support teamThe ideal candidate will have:Graduate Degree (PhD preferred) in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Ecotoxocology, or closely related field; (a JD a plus)10-15 years previous experience with NRDA projectsUnderstanding Louisiana and Gulf Coast habitat restoration techniquesUnderstanding populations and community ecoologyMust have good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and excellent computer skillsWillingness for periodic travelMust be a self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimum supervisionAdditional experience the ideal candidate may have include:Business development of new clients Established professional networkManage multiple projects simultaneouslyProvide training and mentorship Manage multiple team membersDevelop unique client and project strategiesAssist with growth of group and recruiting additional staffUnderstand scope/schedule/budget on large projectsDemonstrate proven leadership abilityThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.This is a lifetime opportunity for individuals who are driven, passionate and looking to be challenged in their leadership and career development.
